I read this quote on Instagram by Becky Thompson and was so convicted, because I’d been in the habit of imagining worst case scenarios in my business.
For my friends whose minds play out the worst case scenario. Your ability to imagine tomorrow… to look out into the future and see something that doesn’t exist… was given to you by God so you can CREATE with Him. He made you to dream and make and think of WONDERFUL things and create them. So when you want to imagine a worst case scenario, pause and remember that God didn’t give you an imagination so you could think of all the ways He might not come through for you. There is no future where the Lord doesn’t show up for us. No matter what comes, no matter what unfolds, He will be with us, In this there is peace.
4 Steps to Use imagination to Shift Your Mindset
- Negative thought comes up… Stop
- Remember you are favored and blessed, there will NEVER be a scenario in your future where God doesn’t show up.
- Challenge yourself to use my imagination to come up with. something wonderful you can create with God.
- Get your imagination flowing by taking time time to be creative or sit outside in the beauty.
There are so many examples in the Bible of God giving the gift of dreaming and imagining with Him in order to create a prosperous life and business by being a blessing as you serve others and walk with God.
Deut 8: 7-10
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.
God lays out a crystal clear vision of what is possible
Abundant crops, livestock, land flowing with milk and honey, these are all different types of businesses.
Peace and security.
Enemies destroyed .
Incredible favor and blessing from God’s hand so they could be a blessing to all the nations and reveal what kind of generous God they serve, drawing others to know Him
YET… the top 2 reasons the Israelites (and us) didn’t receive these incredible blessings were using their imaginations to create worst case scenarios fueled by fear and unbelief that God would come through to accomplish what He promised.
